Do you have the new 2-pin style alternator in your swap application? These alternators take a certain PWM signal to make them charge correctly. they are a variable voltage unit, and can command anywhere from 12v to 15.3v output from the alternator.
With the SMI-ALT44C, simply give the module Ignition 12v and Ground, and plug it into the alternator, and it will command a static voltage within 0.2 volts.
The voltage output needs to be selected when ordering. So take into account any voltage drop or high draw applications when choosing. Any output can be chosen from 12.0 to 15.3 volts. Modules are programmable and will need to be sent back to SMI for reprogramming. Reprograms are free, other than shipping.
